~ Runfessions ~
A collection of statements admitting
that one is guilty of a variety of running crimes…
I runfess: I do not wear underwear under my running shorts that have built-in underwear, but learned that some people do.
I runfess: I am not looking forward to the colder weather. As much as I love snow, and running in the absence of the heat and humidity, my fingers are cold just thinking about the first sub-60’s morning when even though I’m still in shorts and a tank, my fingers will freeze without gloves.
I runfess: I’ve been feeling a little meh since Ragnar DC and have been taking some time off from running – so much in fact that I’ve only run once since my final Ragnar leg on Saturday afternoon, September 17; and I’m okay with that.
I runfess: While unpacking from Ragnar, I threw all of my Ziplock bags (labeled Deb’s fuel, Deb’s night gear, etc.) away because I’d decided I was finished with Ragnar races. Two days later I was wondering which Ragnar I should run next! 😀
I runfess: Somedays I’d rather just run alone later in the morning than to get up at 4:30 AM to meet my running friends at 5:30. Since I really, really miss them, I’ve got to get back into the early morning habit.
I runfess: My friend and I yelled at a biker on Saturday when he chose to pass us on the W&OD Trail even though another biker was passing runners coming toward us. The two bikers met precariously close to each other and it wasn’t safe for anyone involved.
I runfess: Despite the above runfession, I’m considering getting a bike…
Ahhh yes, it feels good to get another set of runfessions off of my chest, especially since it’s has been a year since I last joined in on the fun.
- Questions:
- What are your runfessions?
- Do you wear underwear under your running shorts that have built-in underwear?
- Are you racing this weekend?

Today I’m linking up with Marcia at Marcia’s Healthy Slice for her monthly Runfessions linkup. Be sure to check out her blog and those of the other great bloggers linking up, too.
I always wear underwear under my running shorts !
I runfess that while I love running, I have no interest in racing at the moment…. none at all.

Not wanting to race is a biggy, but something I can totally understand.
I’m a commando girl& proud of it. 😉
Love the fall weather for running — even winter’s ok if it’s sunny. Despise running in heat.
LOL about Ragnar. I’ve been invited a few times but so far the attraction eludes me . . . I like my sleep! And running at night — creepy! I do hear you on the getting up early to run with the group thing. I was so tired the last few months, and tired of running solo, but still glad not to have to get up at zero dark thirty.

Commando girl – it sounds pretty funny when you put it that way! I guess I’ve convinced myself that the built-in underwear is underwear, so I’m not going commando. LOL 😀
LOL on Ragnar! The W&OD can get dangerous. I know I’ve made some passing decisions that were risky in retrospect, and I try to be patient when I’m on my bike but it gets frustrating when runners stay two or three (or more) astride and you have to actually stop behind them. I need to get over it.

Oh, I can understand the frustrations when runners or walkers are spread out across the the trail and over the yellow line, but Alan and I were both close to each other and well on our side of the yellow line. At least the biker guy didn’t start throwing f-bombs and telling us we should get off the trail and out of his way when he yelled “passing” like a biker did many years ago when a similar situation happened.
I’m glad you yelled at the cyclists. I mean really. We had three cycling deaths here in Chicago this week and I’m not saying it was their fault, but safety has to be the focus. Never commando here. I just. Can’t. Thanks for linking up!

How sad to have three cyclist deaths in one week… BTW, I’ll be in Chicago October 11-14 for the Club Industry conference, and I’m looking forward to spending some time in your beautiful city again!
I do the same thing you do with the built in shorts…that’s what they’re there for, right?! I bet Ragnar was an awesome time, I am hoping to finally get to do one in 2017!

Exactly!
I hope it works out for you to give Ragnar a try in 2017. I think you’ll love it!
I do wear underwear under my shorts! It just feels weird without them for me.
Based on the comments on the post, we seem to be about 50/50 on the underwear question! 😀
I am one of those people who wear underwear under my running shorts/skirts. I’ve shared my TMI issues on the blog, so I’ll let you put the pieces of the puzzle together…

HaHa, I’ve never thought of that, but wearing underwear under the built-in underwear sounds so uncomfortable…
I do wear U/W under those shorts because I loathe those panties that are sewn in. The U/W gives me protection from those awful panties. HA. I like the boy short under layer much better. You should get a bike! I think you’d enjoy it.
Do you cut out the built-in underwear? The one time I wore underwear I felt like the built-in caused my underwear to bunch up and be really uncomfortable.
ha ha…about the built-in underwear, well, they’re not really underwear, more of a “panel.” I’m on the fence…sometimes “extra” underwear, sometimes “just the panel.” It depends on the day and what kind of mood I’m feeling LOL

I’ve opened quite the discussion on underwear – I love it!
