Since I’m running in the GW Parkway Ten-Miler tomorrow morning, I decided to take advantage of an opportunity to walk eight miles with my friend Vel this morning.  It is gorgeous out today!  Cool and breezy, but gorgeous!

As soon as we started walking we met one of our Cruisers, Amanda, coming off the trail from her run with some other ladies.   I hope I’m not jumping to conclusions here, but I think she’s two-timing on us!  🙂   Amanda is also part of a local Moms on the Go group, and today they were “Running for Boston.”

Moms on the Go

Moms on the Go is a running group made up of local moms who began running together in the fall of 2010. They started by training for a 5K, then a 10K, and then some went on to run half-marathons and marathons!  Amanda is one of the moms in the group that has since completed a half-marathon and is registered for this fall’s Marine Corps Marathon!

While Vel and I were walking, we met Bill and Joseph running toward us.  Bill ran ten miles, and Joseph ran 14.  Did I mention last Saturday that Joseph ran 17 miles?  That just makes my heart happy!

My two favorite Cruisers!

Yesterday I told you that I was making Chicken Parmesan for our Cruiser friend, Beth, and her husband Tom who were coming over for dinner.  We had a great time listening to their stories about Beth running in the Paris Marathon two weeks ago.  They wrote up a Paris Marathon recap that I’ll be posting next week.  I can’t wait for you to virtually run the race with her!

Back to the Chicken Parmesan…  I made a rookie blogging mistake!  I forgot to take a picture of my plate before scarfing my food down!  Fortunately, I took a picture of the Chicken Parm in the casserole dish before serving it.

Good news!!!!  We have leftovers for tonight’s pre-race dinner!

Beth and Tom brought an apple, peach, and almond pie from Pie Gourmet.  It was delicious!

Looks like they have national delivery available, so you’re in luck!  🙂

  • Did you participate in a “Run for Boston” run today?
