Thank you everyone for the anniversary wishes! We had a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant and even had our youngest son Daniel join us. I don’t talk about Daniel as much because he’s a tennis player, not a runner; and I write a running blog, not a tennis blog. 🙂 Joseph was away on a business trip and couldn’t join us.
I’m happy to tell you that Daniel ordered his beloved fish tacos and said they were delicious! Sorry the photo is so bad, but I forget to take my camera and only had my iPhone to use.
We skipped dessert since we had a Wegman’s mini Ultimate White Cake at home waiting for us! This little cake is so adorable! It serves four, so there weren’t a lot of leftovers to temp me today!
I really, really, really wish I had ordered one of these running toppers for our anniversary cake! Next year for sure!
Today I met my former client turned best friend, Vel, for lunch. We met at Panera because I haven’t been there yet this summer to get their “summer only” Strawberry Poppyseed & Chicken Salad. It’s one of my favorite salads and last summer I totally forgot to get one, and I didn’t want to make the same horrible mistake this summer!
While Vel and I were out and about, the right lens in my seven-year-old Oakleys popped out when I put them on top of my head when we went into a store. I often wear my sunglasses as a headband, but for the last couple of years the lens popping out thing has become a problem. I finally bit the bullet and decided to stop by Sunglass Hut for a new pair of sunglasses this afternoon. Here were some of my choices…
My eyes are extremely sensitive to light so I HAVE to wear sunglasses when I’m outside, even on cloudy days. I decided for my eye health that I should get glasses with UVA and UVB protection, and polarization. These are the ones I chose, the Oakley Flak Jacket. You like? I can’t wait to take them on a test run tomorrow morning!
BTW, while I’m writing this, Bill is making dinner. I could get used to this! 🙂
- Questions:
- What sunglasses do you wear when you run?
- Who cooks at your house?
- How far are you running or racing tomorrow?
I love that panera salad!! I may just have to go there tomorrow to get it 🙂 I usually don’t wear sunglasses when I’m running, sometimes a hat! Luckily Sarah loves cooking so she does it mostly! I’m thinking of doing 4-5 miles tomorrow!
When are you joining the Cruisers for a run? 😉
Love the specs!
I miss Panera. I loved the Caesar salad. Of course, I used to eat that regularly before I started paying attention to my health!
Do you not have Panera in Arizona? And I agree, Caesar salads are a treat, not a staple.
No Panera… we do have Wildflower, however.
[…] how excited I was yesterday to get my new sunglasses? This morning I took them with me on my run, but since we started at […]
I’m loving your new sun glasses!! They look great on you!!
Thank you! 😉
So funny, I’m on a quest for a new pair of sunglasses because my beloved Optic Nerve Hoochie Coos are 7-years old and getting pretty grimy. My problem is that most sunglasses are WAY too big for my face. Love your new Oakleys – they look great!
Have you tried youth sizes? I know Ray Bans come in youth sizes…
I like your new sunglasses! Barry has blue eyes and is also very sensitive to sunlight. Me and my brown eyes don’t mind it so much 🙂 Those wedding cake toppers are so cute! We wanted to do Hokie Birds on our wedding cake, but they were ridiculously expensive. We ended up going with a plastic, rhinestone’d “M”. Barry thought it was for our last name, but really it was for my first name 😉
I do most of the cooking at our house, but Barry fixes an amazing breakfast for dinner. If nothing else, he always makes the gravy.
When Bill was in grad-school, he finished up his classes before I got home from work, so he almost always made dinner! 🙂
Love the new sunglasses! I got a new pair back in May at a race expo, I don’t know the brand?? They seem to work okay. I love the runners cake topper! Maybe I will have to see if I can order it online for our 5 year anniversary in a few weeks! I cook all our meals in our house. I don’t complain because I do enjoy cooking/baking and spending time in the kitchen!
I love cooking when I have lots of time and a special occasion to cook for.
Ha, my dad’s a tennis pro and I think he secretly never forgave my sister and I for choosing soccer, instead.
I just wear whatever cheap $20 sunglasses I can find at Target, usually. Sometimes I borrow my sister’s Oakley’s, though, and they are really nice!
We trade off cooking depending on who is home first.
I LOVE that salad and need to get it at least once per summer myself.
Also, I think that Oakley’s are completely worth the price that you pay for them. My husband and I both have one “sports” pair and one “regular” pair and LOVE them.
Skinny Runner did a review recently on a pair of non-sport Oakleys. They were sweet!
