It’s time for Friday Five linkup with DC area bloggers Courtney at Eat Pray Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What?!, and Mar at Mar on the Run!

I decided to take today’s prompt in a totally fun direction! Here are my five favorite yummy, decadent, sugary things that I love to eat, but pretty much deprive myself of… most of the time!
1. Mint chocolate chip ice cream – not the fancy, expensive kind, but Turkey Hill
3. My Mom’s Fudgy Bonbons
4. Fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies
5. Mounds Bars
Seriously! On my death bed, will I remember those healthy spinach salads…
- Or eating mint chocolate chip ice cream by the gallons while Bill and I were in grad school at Utah State University where they had a dairy that sold ice cream by the tubs?
- Or looking forward to Aunt Ann’s famous brownies at our family reunions?
- Or baking Christmas cookies with Mom, and always including fudgy bonbons in our assortment of goodies to make?
- Or having fun eating fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies with Joseph and Daniel when they were little?
- Or looking for my secret little stash of Mounds Bars that I know my mom will have waiting for me when I visit?
- Questions:
- What are your favorite tempting treats?
- Are any of my treats, among your favorites, too?
- Who’s racing this weekend?
I also love mint chocolate chip ice cream–especially the cheap kind! My other favorite treats are dark chocolate, French raspberry tarts, and carrot cake.
Mmmmm… dark chocolate!
Oh my gosh, my mouth is watering! That all looks amazing (though I’d skip the Mounds since I don’t like coconut). I love a good white chocolate chip cookie! Have a great weekend 🙂

Thanks, you have a great weekend, too!
Mmmm my favorite tempting treats practically all center around the holidays! I love pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving, and warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream at Christmas. Also at Christmas time, my Dad makes the most amazing shortbread cookies, ginger snap cookies, and banana bread. Yum!

Roger’s shortbread cookies sound delicious! Surprisingly, I’ve never made shortbread cookies.
I used to go the sweet route more often but these days my favorite treat is always going to be wine or a cosmo or a Texas margarita!!!

That’s kind of how I have evolved, too. I think you and I would get along very well!
I’m such a sucker for mint chocolate anything. When we go to Olive Garden, I always ask for more of the Andie’s Candies – the ones they leave with your bill. I’m also partial to Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia.

I agree; you can never go wrong with a mint/chocolate combo! 🙂
I loved everything about this post! Mint chocolate chip is delicious and I love making pumpkin cookies (year round).
