I’m very excited to let you know that my friend Lesley is the race director for the upcoming Ghost, Goblins & Ghouls Spooktacular 5K which will be held on October 31 at 4 PM at One Loudoun; and she has graciously offered to give a free registration each to two of my lucky readers!
Her company, m.b. LoGistics & events, is putting on the race and accompanying events to shine a spotlight on being more active as a family with the hopes of getting adults and kids moving through physical activities.
From the website:
This event will center on the “spooktacular” theme of Halloween and incorporate a costume contest, Halloween themed entertainment, trick or treating, Halloween activities, and MORE!
Runners are encouraged to run in costume and enter the costume contest after the race! All runners registered by October 1 are guaranteed to receive a technical long sleeve race t-shirt and a Halloween trick or treat bag full of goodies.
Kids!! Be sure get signed up for the Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run! All participants registered by October 1 are guaranteed to receive a long sleeve non-technical shirt, a finisher’s keepsake upon completing their race and a Halloween trick or treat bag full of goodies.
Many runners dress up in costume, so this is an opportunity to let your creative juices run wild and come dressed as your favorite character or secret alter ego!
The Ghost, Goblins, and Ghouls 5K is a great event for runners of all levels. Families are encouraged to participate and enjoy an opportunity to spend an active afternoon together. Leading by example is the best way for parents to teach their children that they care about their health.
Prior to the 5K there will be a Scarecrow Sprint Fun Run at 3 PM designed specifically for the little tykes even though they are welcomed to run with their parents in the 5K. If you don’t think your child can run the 5K distance (3.1 miles), the fun run is a great way to introduce your child to running without making it overwhelming. The Scarecrow Sprint puts the FUN in run!
A portion of race proceeds will go to the Road Runners Club of America’s Kids Run the Nation Program. The race organizers are also working to donate shoe certificates to children in need of running shoes.
For additional encouragement and updates, be sure to “Like” the Ghost, Goblins, and Ghouls Spooktacular 5K Facebook page.
If you’d like to enter for a chance to win one of the two free registrations, please leave a comment below answering one or all of my questions, or just say, “I’d love to win.” Comments will be numbered in the order they are received (first commenter will be number one), and winners will be chosen on October 1 via random.org. There will be additional opportunities to win, but don’t take that chance, enter today with a comment below!

I’m sure they will! I haven’t decided if I’m going to wear a costume (and what) if I’m in town.
I’ve never worn a costume in a race :)!
I would love to win!
Good luck! Do you think you’d wear a costume in this race if you win?
Definitely!!!
Your pilgrim costume was awesome, Debbie! The pilgrim family, turkey and all!
Our pilgrim/Indian/turkey gang will be broken apart this year. One of the Indians will be flying in from Chicago that morning and her pilgrim brother-in-law will be driving to BWI to pick them up. Hopefully the turkey will come run with me! 🙂 Perhaps you can be the boy pilgrim? 😀
Sounds like fun. I’d love to win. 🙂
Good luck!
Have you ever worn a costume in a race? – Nope, but there’s a first time for everything 🙂

Are you going to leave a comment for a free registration? – I’m a sucker for contests, haha.
I remember seeing Michael Wardian’s Spiderman costume on FB or IG. It was great! Good luck in the contest!
I’d love to win.
Good luck! 🙂
I have dressed up for runDisney races but not overly elaborate! The best costume was Indiana Jones, had the hat, outfit, & whip. It was perfect. I’d like to win a free entry! Hoping my kids will run this one with me.
How fun to run with your children! Good luck in the contest! My youngest son is running his first half with me next weekend. 🙂
I’d love to win!!! ;o)

sign me up 🙂
Good luck, and if you don’t win, be sure to register!
Because Vanessa thinks she can get me to dress up…
Hey, you’ve worn a sparkle skirt in a race so you’re half way there to dressing up!
The best costume I ever saw was two people dressed as a hamburger and fries at the Boston marathon, but then we saw the burger drop out on heartbreak hill!!
I’d love to win a race entry!
Awww, bummer for the burger! Good luck!
Lesley rocks!
I love your comment, and if I were choosing the winner based on comments you would be a winner! 🙂
