Welcome to Wednesday Word, a weekly linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. Each Wednesday you will have a single word prompt to write about. Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is passionate…… I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
Passionate – having, showing, or expressing strong emotions or beliefs;
capable of, affected by, or expressing intense feeling
~ Merriam-Webster
It may seem cliché, but the older I get, the more passionate I become toward life. Perhaps I’m more passionate because I’ve learned to relax and allow the joy to take hold…
Whatever the case, I think it takes opening your heart to discovering things in order to be passionate. It’s about:
- Finding what makes your heart sing
- Finding what motivates you to try harder
- Finding what makes you want to learn more
- Finding what gets that fire burning in your belly
- Finding what leaves you with a satisfied feeling
- Finding what you can do for others
- Finding what makes you want to jump out of bed each morning
- Finding what makes you feel alive
As Nelson Mandela said, “There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” And with that, you must find your passion – you must not settle.
I’m passionate about:
- My family
- My friends
- My faith
- Having a happy and welcoming home
- Helping others
- Running
- Eating well and staying healthy and fit
- Teaching my clients how to live healthier lives
- Exploring new places
Passion is about allowing yourself to fall in love with life and living it to the fullest.

Next Wednesday’s Word: Tenacious
good morning! I love happy dancing feet Snoopy! I can agree that the older I get the easier it is to follow my passion, I seem to worry a lot less about what other people think and I let me hair down and enjoy life doing what I love! This is my first time with your Wednesday word link up- thank you!

Snoopy does seem passionate about dancing! I’m so happy to have you join us at Wednesday Word!
I think age has it’s advantages here but it could also be a realization that this is the life we have – we had best enjoy it! What’s the opposite of a mid-life crisis? Mid-life passion? 😉

“Mid-life passion…” I love that!
[…] Thanks to Deb for picking such a perfect word for me for today’s Wednesday Word link up. […]
This is great, Deb. I’m finding I’m less passionate about my career and more passionate about my hobbies and family as I get older. Perhaps that comes with being more financially comfortable than earlier in life. I love the Mandela quote. Thanks for sharing!

Perhaps you’re on to something! I loved that Mandela quote as soon as I saw it, too.
Yes I do think age changes the way you see the world and allows you to appreciate the little things. Thanks for the link up and have a great day!

Appreciate the little things – exactly!
I forgot to mention travel — good one!
Happy & welcoming home . . . yeah, not so much. It’s not that I don’t want it, it’s just that I tend to spend my energy on the other things I’m passionate about.

I’m definitely becoming more passionate about travel as I get older. Since I’m passionate about entertaining, a welcoming home is a must! 😉
I’m starting to get more and more passionate about travel! I’m interested in exploring new places. I just got back from Seattle, and I’m looking forward to 2 destination races in 2016–the Sarasota half marathon and the Big Sur marathon!

You will love the Big Sur Marathon – after Boston, it’s one of my favorites! I ran the whole race with my husband, taking pictures along the way.
I think with age comes clarity. We realize life’s too short to sweat the small stuff. Or do stuff we’re not wild about.

I think you’re right, and for me, after I my children grew up and left home, I had more time to focus on the things that I’d not had time for previously.
I love that Nelson Mandela quote! I am passionate about living a healthy, limited stress, happy life!
Those are very good things to be passionate about!
I’m so grateful to have a number of things I’m passionate about. It’s an awesome awesome feeling when you’re passionate about the things you do/are involved in. Makes a whole lot of difference!
Kunbi recently posted…What Are You Passionate About?
Absolutely! It’s one of the reasons I love being a personal trainer. I’m passionate about helping others live a healthier lifestyle and love my job!
I have definitely found more things i’m passionate about the older I get. I think it comes from a place of taking life more seriously and appreciating every moment!
Taking life more seriously and appreciating every moment – very good point!
Oh Debbie I love the last saying, allowing yourself to live to the fullest! I too think it takes age an experience to really soak in what it is that we are passionate about. I Enjoyed this week’s word an it gave me a chance to ponder on the things I am so passionate about.
