Living a life fulfilled – Welcome to Wednesday Word, a weekly linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. Each Wednesday you will have a single word prompt to write about. Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is fulfill….. I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
Fulfill – to succeed in achieving (something);
to make (something, such as a dream) true or real
~ Merriam-Webster
Oh, to be as happy as the dog in the poster…
We all want to be happy, and we wish for those around us to be happy. Living a life fulfilled is a step in that direction; however, life often gets in the way of allowing that to happen. The secret is to slow down and make time for ourselves and those important to us.
Tips for living a fulfilled life:
- Live to serve (God, family, friends, community) – give of your time by helping out at your church, volunteering at races, helping friends in need, etc.
- Take time for yourself – find a quiet place for yoga, go on a solo run, curl up with a book
- Live with a purpose – set goals, even small ones, and strive to work toward meeting those goals
- See the beauty in nature – take time to notice the changing seasons, seek sunrises or sunsets while running
- Look for miracles – watch as a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly outside your backdoor
- Embrace your passion – whether it’s running, cooking, or photography, allow time to enjoy your passion
Slow down, enjoy life, and make the most out of every second you can…

Next Wednesday’s Word: Irritable
Obviously we both had dogs on our minds. 🙂
And taking care of the furkids — it’s usually fulfilling (although often aggravating lately).
Moving my body? Definitely fulfilling! Learning new things, too. I finally kicked up into a shoulder stand this morning — assisted by the wall, but it’s still something that has eluded me. I haven’t even consciously been working towards it lately; I just decided to give it a go this morning.

Congrats on the shoulder stand today!
Embracing your passion and seeing the beauty in nature are big ones for me—getting out for a long run in the crisp fall air is perfect fulfillment for me:)

Oh my goodness, running along a quiet road or trail in the crisp fall air with brilliantly colored leaves on the surrounding trees is a true gift from God!
Family, work, living a life that I can feel proud of…that can make me fulfilled.

Yes to all!
I think not letting life just pass me but actively enjoying life and doing the things I am passionate about. Of course that includes spending time outdoors and anytime I can be with my family. Thanks for the link-up.
Exactly! Don’t let life pass you by; rather, enjoy the moments.
This is such a great reminder to take things as they are and not rush through everything. A friend helped me remember this about my boy’s current driver’s ed classes, where I’m having to drop him off all over the place to meet up with his instructor. Four more lessons and he’ll have his license and my days with Andy in the car will dwindle. There is a lot to be said for savoring each moment!

Your friend is very wise. I’m sure you embraced those moments with Cora before she headed off to college. I know I did the same with my sons.
Slow down, enjoy life, and make the most out of every second you can……GREAT Advice!!
My kids make me feel fulfilled! …so cheesy right but it is true!!
Thanks!
Running outside is the best! I have loved every sunrise (and sunset) I’ve ever encountered while in my running shoes. There is no describing the peace and tranquility of such moments…

Well said, Kim!
Love these tips! Lately a big focus of mine has been slowing down and enjoying the ride. I’ve been making a conscious effort to take a time out and do things out of my normal routine each day, read inspiring books, and do things because they make me genuinely happy, without any expectation of an outcome other than feeling good.
Thank you, Ariana!
All good advice.
I feel more fulfilled when I help someone than when I achieve something for myself.

That’s fabulous, and really the way it should be, right?
I’ve sort of lost myself a little in these last 7-10 months between the pre-deployment preparation and now deployment. And while I miss doing things solely for me, I realize that my kids having a parent present is so much more important. My dreams will be there no matter what, it just may take a little longer to achieve them while my husband is still in the military. Great post!

Thanks, Michelle! You must feel fulfilled knowing that you’re keeping a strong and steady foundation for your girls while your hubby is deployed.
