Welcome to Wednesday Word, a weekly (monthly starting January 4, 2017) linkup for everyone, not just health and fitness bloggers. Each Wednesday you will have a single word prompt to write about. Let your imagination run free and share with your readers your interpretation of that word, or simply use it as inspiration for your post. Today’s word is peace… I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
Peace
A state of tranquillity or quiet
~ Merriam-Webster
Whenever I need to find peace, I go for a run. Running gives me the ability to relax and go to a place in my mind where I can…
Ponder the day’s events
Enjoy the moment
Always smile
Create calmness
Embrace positivity
Whether running
Alone or with friends,
With music or without,
In daylight or darkness,
Swiftly or long and steady,
At sunrise, sunset, or mid-day,
On a sunny, cloudy, or rainy day,
May you find extraordinary peace in all of your runs!
Changing gears, I have some exciting news to share! I’m starting a new linkup to make it easier for runners/bloggers to find each other at races. Race Linkup will normally open on the last Monday of every month, but since we missed this month, I will have a linkup go live tonight at midnight. You can link up your race schedule just once for the year or every month – you choose how often you want to get your schedule out there for other runners to see. The goal is for runners to see who else will be at races so we can arrange meet-ups with other bloggers and our readers. I’m still working out the details so please bear with me if a make a few small changes along the way.
What brings you peace?

Next Month’s Wednesday Word: Involvement
So true!! I run for my sanity!! The calm, the quiet and the me time!! Such peace!!
What a great link up idea!! I hope to meet and meet up with a few peoplease this year!
I think running to find peacefulness is so important when our children are young – it makes for calmer parents. I’m glad you like the new linkup and hope you’ll join in. Perhaps you and I can finally meet in 2017!
Running can be so very peaceful — something non/beginning runners don’t get. But we do!
Your new linkup sounds very exciting!

Excellent point about non and beginning runners not understanding how peaceful running can be. I’m glad you like the idea of the new linkup and hope you’ll join in on the fun!
the new linkup is an awesome idea!
I don’t know if I have any specific reasons why I run…for peace, certainly, but I just want to stay fit and running is so personal. I can go at my own pace, wherever I feel like going, (almost) any time of the day, etc.

I definitely run for fitness and love that finding peace is one of the many positive side benefits. There’s nothing like being out alone on the running trail… 🙂
Looks like you and I had the same thoughts about running! The peace that running brings me is my favorite benefit of running.
I’ll miss the weekly Wednesday Word! Whatever will I write about?

Indeed!
You’re a very clever writer, I’m sure you’ll think of something to write about on your three extra Wednesday’s per month! I hope you’ll join in the Race Linkup as well.
I love the idea of the race link up! Thanks for doing that.
Sure thing – I hope we’ll all find some new runner friends as a result of the new linkup!
yes to embracing positivity!

Ain’t nobody got time for negativity! 😉
Running and my cat brings me peace. 🙂 She makes me laugh and makes me feel needed.
Now with the new monthly word linkup, maybe now I can participate.
Happy New Year!!!

We would love to have you participate in Wednesday Word whenever you can! You don’t have to commit to every month in order to join us; just when the word works for you.
Happy New Year to you, too!
I loved the way you broke down what you gain from running with the word peace.
Running is something I am still getting use to… its hard to not think about the discomfort and pain I get from running. I’m just not a polished runner yet who can just enjoy the run without wanting it to end :0
Although I have enjoyed my runs at times, like being outdoors, feeling the sun, hearing the sounds of nature, or my favorite songs playing in my ear.
I want to improve! And I do plan on signing up for more runs in 2017 to keep me motivated and consistently working towards my running goals. Your new link up sounds like a fantastic idea! Excited to meet more people 😀
This article is a new experience for me. Peace and passion for life is what we need. I really like this blog and the information contained herein. Thanks for sharing.
