Last night we invited friends over to watch the Olympics (I didn’t realize that no actual competitions would be going on – oops), but we enjoyed catching up and watching the festivities. We ordered pizza from our favorite local delivery place, and our friends brought a kale salad from Costco (with added pomegranate seeds), and it was delicious! I’m not gonna lie, I went back for seconds on the salad!
We hadn’t seen this particular set of friends since last summer, and it was great to see them! They even brought us a maroon and orange plant for our Hokie bar!
Our friends stayed until the speeches got going, and as soon as they left we headed straight to bed to watch the rest of the show. The fireworks after the lighting of the Olympic flame were beautiful and looked almost red, white, and blue – how very American. Hmm…
I didn’t notice this last night (perhaps it happened after the lighting of the flame, because I went to sleep the very next second), but one of the snow flakes failed to open into the fifth Olympic ring. Uh-oh!
I didn’t stay up for the end of the Olympic Opening Ceremony because I had to get up early this morning to meet the MRTT ladies at the trail at 6:30. It was 26° when we started, but thankfully not windy! For some reason my camera shoots blurry pictures when I have the flash on and it’s in self-timer mode. Yet another reason I’m hoping for a new tiny camera in the next month or so. Hint, hint, Babe! Anyway, these ladies are amazing and I’m looking forward to many more runs with them in the future!
I ran five miles with my new friends before I had to get back and meet Joe (the only Cruiser joining me). We ran three miles giving me an eight-mile total for the day. I have a 5K tomorrow, so I decided not to run any farther. Tomorrow’s 5K is about having fun with no expectations, so resting my legs wasn’t a concern.
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw a picture of this Champion jacket I bought at Costco yesterday. It’s an unlined shell and cost only $17.99. It’s the perfect weight for me to wear over a long sleeved shirt during the winter.
Now on to the really good stuff! Back in July, I gave away a Road ID $35 e-coupon and promised that I’d give another one away in a few months. I had every intention of giving it away on Black Friday, but life got in the way during the fall and it just didn’t happen. The good news is… I’m starting the giveaway today!
Please refer back to my July post for all of the cool details about Road ID and why it’s such a good idea to always run with one!

Believe it or not, I’m not super into the Olympics, never really have been! I know, not American! I actually just bought my first Road ID this summer. I would be super excited to give this to my sister who is fairly new to running!!
Not “not American,” just not your thing!
Just the sight of those pizza boxes makes me crave out local favorite! I’m hoping to win your giveaway this time! 🙂

We don’t get pizza very often, but when we do, we order it from Paisano’s!
I’m beyond thrilled you’re doing another Road ID giveaway! I really need one for my solo trail runs!

Good luck! Loved how you tweeted, “Never run alone again.”
It was so nice to meet you and run with you this morning. My favorite local pizza is The Don’s in sterling. Delish!
I must say that I’m not a huge Winter Olympics fan, but I LOVE the summer games! I’ll watch any sport at any time! These Sochi games are good for a vodka tonic, however. 😉
I’ve never heard of The Don’s. Maybe we should try it, although we rarely go out for pizza. My favorite local pizza is Emilio’s in Sterling, but we rarely go there. If we’re getting delivery, we order from Paisano’s.
I would be so stoked to win a road ID bracelet!!! 🙂

I would love for a fellow Hokie to win. We’ll have to wait and see if Rafflecopter agrees! 🙂
I definitely need to win this! Running in Philly isn’t always safe, so I’d love to have one of these!

Hi – One of my twins (the one with the Mickey Hat,was the one who spotted your shoe that had the road ID at the Run Your Heart Out race this morning. The other twin kept reminding me on the way home to enter your contest. So here we are! What a great fun race to do on a chilly morning in Northern Virginia! Nice meeting you!
It was so nice to meet you, Skye, and Hope! Be sure to come back and check out my recap either later today or tomorrow. You can enter the giveaway each day this week!
I definitely need one if these, hope I win! Great running with you and Bill both during and after the race!!!
It was fun, but we sure couldn’t talk like we usually do during our long runs! But then we don’t usually run 8:22 minute/mile long runs!
Love Road ID! I need to update some info & would love some new bands & charms!

SO excited about this giveaway!! I’ve been meaning to buy a Road ID for a long time (clearly I’m stupidly lazy since they aren’t that expensive). BUT if I don’t win, I will take the plunge and buy one for myself!

Been wanting one of these for ages, but knew I was moving and wanted to wait so the information would be correct. This would be awesome to win!
Awesome! And thanks for visiting my blog!
For pizza delivery… my fave is a local chain called Sammy’s. They are the only place for miles that cooks their pizza in a brick oven. And they are amazing.
I don’t have a RoadID but I need one!!!!

My favorite local pizza place has a brick oven, but they don’t deliver. If we go out for pizza, we go there.
That’s a great giveaway! How fun! I run with my DL and phone, even if I’m going a short distance. I’m usually excited about the winter Olympics but truthfully haven’t watched more than a couple minutes of it since they started. I have a couple favorites: bobsled, freestyle skiing and snowboarding.

I love any place that delivers gluten-free pizza! Thx for the giveaway! I’ve been wanting a roadID since last summer and haven’t gotten around to ordering one yet! Fingers crossed!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog and good luck!
I love love love Road ID! I have one on my kiddos just because you can blink for a moment and they are ducking under a clothing rack and taking off across the store and in the arms of a stranger asking “What’s your name?” and the kiddo is frozen like a deer in the headlights! Okay, that hasn’t happened, but i can totally foresee it being in my future. Not to mention I like having one on when I run. They have other great gear too! Headsweats hats for $10? Yes please! I always need more socks for running, and i might as well pick up some reflective gear too.

Good luck!
VERY EXCITED! I don’t have anything like this now, and I would feel so much safer with a Road ID! Thanks for the opportunity to win one! 🙂
