If you’re looking for a fun and no-equipment-needed workout to do while vacationing, look no further. I designed this workout so it can be done on the beach, in your back yard, or in your family room.
Pyramids are your cardio intervals between your strengthening exercises. Each pyramid consists of doing 150 total reps of five different heart raising movements, starting with 50 reps, then 40, then 30, then 20, and then 10. For example, you could run in place 50 times, do 40 jumping jacks, followed by 30 hacky sacks, 20 skip claps, and finally 10 star jumps. You mix it up any way you want as long as it’s challenging and gets your heart pumping.
You should be able to make it through this workout about four times in an hour.
- Questions:
- What would your pyramids consist of?
- Do you usually workout while on vacation?
- When and where was your all-time favorite vacation?

I’m glad you like it! We are having the best time, but sadly our vacation draws to an end this afternoon…
I love workouts like this–just pinned it. And now I know what pyramids are when it comes to strength work!

You had me a surfside! Great idea! I will remember this when I hit the Naples beach in a couple weeks!

HaHa! Enjoy your trip to Naples!
I do run while on vacation… but I’ve been considering adding a cross-training day to use different muscles and gain strength. Favorite vacation… probably the camping trip in Mackinaw City, MI that we took with my side of the family.
