Welcome to Race Linkup, a monthly linkup opening on the last Monday of every month and staying open for four weeks. Link your race schedule so everyone can see who else will be at the next race and we can arrange meet-ups with other bloggers and our readers. You can link up your race schedule every month or only when you register for an additional race – you choose how often you want to get your schedule out there for other runners to see. I’d love to have you link up, and if you do, please remember to follow my six simple rules.
For several weeks I have been stalking airfare to Chicago for mid-March with the hope of meeting blogging buddies, Wendy and Kim, for the Wintrust Lakefront 10 Miler. With our son wrapping up his MBA from Chicago Booth in June, he and our daughter-in-law will be moving back east and our draw to the Chicago area will move with them. In addition to graduation weekend later this spring, we were hoping for just one more visit to the windy city and this seemed like the perfect time (and race).
Perhaps it’s best that I hadn’t booked flights yet considering I’m currently riding the injury bus. There is a 5K associated with the race, so that’s always a possibility should we decide to make the trip and I don’t feel up to running a 10 miler. Stay tuned!
Luckily, I haven’t registered for any 2017 races; however, there are several that I’m thinking of running later this year when I’m back to feeling 100%…
July 4 – Firecracker 5K – Reston Town Center, Reston, VA
August 20 – Leesburg 20K – Market Station, Leesburg, VA
October 8 – Army Ten Miler – Pentagon, Arlington, VA
October 21 and 22 – Runner’s World Half & Festival – Arts Quest, Bethlehem, PA (still on the fence)
November 23 – Thanksgiving Day 5K – Crossroads United Methodist Church, Ashburn, VA
December 10 – NOVA Jingle Bell 5K – Clyde’s at Willow Creek, Broadlands, VA (date and location not confirmed)
- Questions:
- Do you travel for races often?
- Do you sign up for races months in advance or at the last minute?
- Which race on your 2017 race schedule are you most excited about?
Hope to see you at a race!
I’m gonna try to add a post to this link (later today or tomorrow). I think I have thought of a way to combine a race “schedule” with the new Wednesday Word LOL I have to do combined posts these days…just not enough time to be writing multiple posts ;-( I sure hope we’ll be seeing you in a few weeks!!!

Oh cool! I look forward to having you join both linkups and can’t wait to read your combined post!
P.S. If I decide to join you and Wendy for the race, I’ll let you know as soon as I book the tickets! The way my back is feeling today, though…
I wish I had the time & money to travel more. I usually go to Fl twice a year because I have friends who live there. Otherwise I stay local. I am looking forward to Windglass Half on Oct 1.

My friends who have run Wineglass have loved it!
I travel for soccer, not running. That might change after spring season – I am going to get back into running, I think. I don’t have time in the season, but after and between? Heck yes.
Excellent! If you do get into running, let me know if you have any questions about your training.
I do like to travel a couple of times a year or more if I can for a race. So far this year I have New Orleans and Utah planned 🙂

I’m so bummed that Utah is on the same weekend as something else I have planned. If I were open, my hubby and I would go out for sure! I haven’t been back since we moved from Utah in 1984 and I’m so overdue for a visit!
