Remember this summer when I shared photos from my parents’ garden? Mom sent us home yesterday with a basket full of just picked tomatoes! This basket was overflowing with tomatoes until I shared with Joseph, Julie, and some friends!

I love fresh tomatoes + fresh basil. A caprese salad with fresh mozzarella is the best thing for a hot summer day! I would love that gelato.
Amy have you seen these little appetizers on Pinterest?
Tomato gelati… hmm that I don’t know if I could do but I do love me some tomatoes. I live in Hanover County… google our famous tomatoes 🙂
You even have a Tomato Festival! 🙂
I’m with Amy. I’ll take a caprese ANY day.
Nah…make that EVERY day!
And since the tomatoes out here aren’t that awesome…this post is making me drool! 🙂
Aw, bummer that you don’t have good tomatoes there… Wonder if it’s too humid, or with the smog not sunny enough?
I’d guess it’s the sun/heat, although there are a few varieties grown locally – even IN Singapore, hydroponically. I suspect that they are all the ones engineered to be uniformly rosy-red, rather than the super-tasty heirloom ones that I know & love from NJ!!
I’ve tried so hard to like tomatoes and I never could! I’ve tried several varieties and haven’t found a single one I like. I’m such a picky eater, it’s horrible! LOL
My fave would probably be zucchini, but we haven’t been getting very good looking zucchinis at the supermarket this year.
I am soooooo jealous! My Mom has a tomato garden but she lives in Tennessee so I only get some when she comes to Florida. Fortunately that’s often. I eat tomatoes just like an apple and fresh picked are the best. YUM.
It’s great that your mom can visit often and that she comes with gifts of tomatoes!
I’ve never had a running belt, and it’s always such a pain to carry things by hand so winning this would be just super!
P.S. Your tomatoes look amaaaaazing, fun tomato facts for daaays!
They are delicious!!!
This post makes me want to start a garden! Those tomatoes look delicious! I found out yesterday that Z likes cherry tomatoes, he eats them like candy! I may have to start growing cherry tomatoes! I have started gardens in the past and always find a way to end up killing them somehow?!
It’s great that Z loves cherry tomatoes! They’re such a healthy snack!
I love tomatoes! But I only like fresh-sliced tomatoes if they’re cold. I’ll eat grape tomatoes warm, though. I don’t really know of any tomato recipes, though. I mostly put them in salads or on sandwiches, or as part of a casserole recipe.
